Karen Snizik Alvarez, Owner
Growing up along the shores of Lake Charlevoix in Northern Michigan, Karen was drawn to nature at an early age. She attended college at the University of Northern Colorado, and later settled in Park City, Utah.
She has been a Staff Producer at Francis Ford Coppola’s American Zoetrope, and served as Mr. Coppola’s Executive Assistant.
Independent projects include producing the documentary “Sherpa, the Proving Ground,” where she traveled to the Himalayas of India to tell the story of the “Sherpani”, the female Sherpa who risk their lives guiding climbers. In 2005, Karen joined hundreds of volunteers, traveling to Sri Lanka in the wake of the Tsunami disaster.
Karen’s focus remains on nature, culture, the arts, and her children: son Matias, now 15, and daughter Emerson, 12. Karen splits her time between the mountains of Park City and the waters of San Carlos, Sonora Mexico.
